Acceptable use

Use PitchDetector.cc for personal practice, learning, musical reference, and other lawful purposes. You may use the detector and reference piano without creating an account, subject to these terms.

Accuracy and limitations

Readings are estimates generated from sound captured by your device. They can be affected by microphone quality, room noise, vibrato, harmonics, multiple notes, browser support, and calibration settings. The tool is not a laboratory instrument, professional tuner, medical device, or vocal assessment.

Not professional advice

Do not use the site as a substitute for medical, safety, teaching, engineering, or professional performance advice. Stop if singing or playing causes pain, strain, dizziness, or other discomfort, and consult a qualified professional when appropriate.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service useful and available, but features may change, be interrupted, or be removed without notice. We may update the explanations, supported browsers, calibration options, or interface as the project develops.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for granting microphone permission, choosing an appropriate environment, interpreting readings carefully, and deciding how to use the information. Do not share sensitive information through the contact channel or external links.
